Cranberry Swirl Pedestal Lamp, S2-564 Fenton Cranberry Swirl Pedestal Lamp, S2-564 About 7 3/4" tall to top of shade Base about 3 1/2" in diameter at widest point and shade about 4" wide at bottom edge Probably Fenton Glass Background & History: This attractive little lamp is shown in the "Revised & Expanded 2nd Edition" of Ruth Smith's book "Miniature Lamps II" in Figure 564. Smith notes that while not Victorian in age, this lamp has become very collectible. We believe that this lamp was made by the Fenton Glass company (but cannot be certain of that) and that it was probably made sometime after the 1930's (the Fenton web-site indicates that Fenton introduced Cranberry glass into its product line in the 30s). Condition of this lamp: This lamp is in very good condition with just one very minor and hard to see very shallow 1/8" by 1/16" nick on the top edge. Measurements are provided below the photo to the left. While this attractive little lamp is not as old as some lamps, it is a quality piece of art glass most likely made by the highly respected Fenton Glass Company--and it's a lamp that's fairly hard to find. Over the past 4 1/2 years, we've only seen 10 examples of this lamp in cranberry glass on eBay (and during that time we've tracked the offering of over 27,000 listed miniature lamps on eBay).
