Offered for your bidding pleasure is an extremely fine example of a Florida Mastodon tooth. Recovered from the Suwannee River in northern Florida, this tooth is solid and whole. Color shifts from Jet Black to Honey Brown across this tooth, it is truly gorgeous! This beast roamed Florida during and before the last ice age 13,000 to 30,000 years ago. Teeth from the U.S. Southeast are far nicer than those dredged up in Alaska and Siberia because they are FOSSILIZED. This means that minerals from the river have replaced the bone material keeping them intact and solid. They also have a killer appearance and add wonderful colors like these! This tooth measures 4" tall, 3 1/2" long and 2 1/2" wide. It also has an almost full root system which makes it much more highly prized and collectable. Displays great and stands on its side naturally for a great appearance. Look around on ebay, you won't find many nicer, rarely offered in this condition. No Restoration or Damage!!!! No Reserve!!!!
