CARNIVAL GLASS KINGCOME BY ~ COME BUY ~ COME BACKNO EXCUSE RETURN POLICY - SATISFACTION GUARANTEEDYES***I COMBINE SHIPPING***YESBROCKWITZ - GERMANYCURVED STAR aka ZURICHProduction of CARNIVAL GLASS began in America in 1907, and in the 1920s in other countries, using the new process of creating an iridescent film on patterned glassware introduced by The Fenton Art Glass Company. This new process was meant to be a less costly alternative to the one used by Tiffany, Steuben, and others which produced glassware with internal iridescence.Molten glass was poured into a mold and then forced by a "plunger" under great pressure into that mold's design. The glass was removed from the mold, reheated, and then hand-shaped to final form by spinning , flaring and/or adding special edge treatment . Still hot, it was then sprayed with a metallic salt solution , which bonded with the glass. The resulting metallic film reflected various spectra of light to create the lovely iridescence for which Carnival Glass is known.
