This auction is for four pre-war Lionel O gauge freight cars. These are lithographed (tin printed) cars, manufactured by the Lionel Corporation, some time between 1933 and 1942. In general, the cars are not in great shape, but are in fairly reasonable condition bearing in mind their age and the UK climate! The Box Car has good clean lithography and paintwork on one side, but on the other side the sliding door and runners are rusted. The under-frame is a bit pitted and the wheels also rusted (but usually clean up remarkably well). Couplings and roof are somewhat rusty too. The Tanker Car is very nice on one side but has some corrosion to the tank on the other side. Otherwise, the chassis, couplings and wheels are in fair to good condition. One caboose is in fairly good condition, but someone has pierced a hole in the chassis, presumably to fit a light bulb. However the box coupling is good. The other caboose is not quite so good, with some paint loss to the roof, but with a very sound and unmolested chassis. However the box couplings are missing the box part. N.B. You could probably make one good caboose using the best parts from each of the two cabooses - hence the reason why I have included both of them in this lot. The postage/shipping cost for thisitem to a UK address, by Royal Mail Standard Parcels , will be only £4.41 and
