Franklin Mint Josephine Original Gibson Girl Vinyl Doll Outfit

You are bidding on an ensemble from The Franklin Mint Josephine Memoirs of the Original Gibson Girl Wardrobe Collection. This is officially authorized by Dana Gibson the great-granddaughter of the legendary artist Charles Dana Gibson. The outfit itself was inspired by a gown that his sister Josephine actually wore and appeared in his magnificent drawings. His artwork has helped us to know the sophistication of the era that he lived and that his artwork depicts. This gown is created in deep blue velvet trimmed with deep purple and ivory lace. The bodice elegantly trimmed with beads. It also has a matching shawl with faux fur collar and matching hat with faux fur and feathers. Beautiful drop gold toned and bead earrings and black shoes. This was a short lived collection that the Franklin Mint offered and was made in very small numbers which makes this outfit that much more hard to find and rare. This dress-up collection from The Franklin Mint was sold for a short time in the later 1990’s. This would make a great addition to a Gibson Doll collection or any dress-up doll collection. This outfit is from the era of The Franklin Mint when it was still owned by Stewart and Lynda Resnick and was located in Franklin Center (Media) Pa. This outfit was made for The Franklin Mint Josephine Memoirs of the Original Gibson Girl Dress-up Doll
