I have for auction this very beautiful and fine quality French porcelain strainer spoon, possibly from one of the Paris factories, it was found in a house clearance here in the South of France, I would date it to the late 19th century. The spoon does not look like it has ever been used, the condition is amazing, there is no damage, restoration or rubbing to the beautiful gilding, it has obviously been treasured. Judging on the size of the spoon, I wonder if it would have been for olives. The length of the spoon is approx 21cms or 8.25", the diameter of the bowl is approx 6cms or just under 2.5", please take a look at all 12 of my photo's, on the back of the spoon there are two areas where the spoon has been supported in the kiln so are not glazed and when you look at the under side of the bowl, where the spoon stood in the kiln it is biscuit then the glaze starts running up the sides, non of this is damage but just emphasizes how the spoon has been made and is part of it's wonderful charm. Please feel free to ask questions, I am selling with a low starting price without reserve. Please take a look at my other lovely early French items for sale, I will be happy to combine lots to save you on postal charges.
