FritznerLamour was born in Jacmel, Haiti in December 1950. in the early 1960'she apprenticed the master Prefete Duffaut.
In the early 80's, on his own now, he began painting farms scenes including chickens. Eventually, the chickens grew larger,
roosters were added and in a jump to the surreal the poultry took on the character of humans.
Lamour was painting political satire when it was very dangerous to do so.
Roosters became policemen and Ton-Tons Macoute. With apprehension he transported his paintings by tap-tap to
Galerie Monnin.
Under the tutelage of his dealer and mentor Michel Monnin he has expanded his eye to include other
animals and developed a high degree of technical virtuosity. This along with his satarical and surrealist
