A RARE one of a kind piece of hand drawn artwork by BILL McCLANAHAN of the Dallas Morning News from the early 1960's. This is a piece of artwork drawn by Bill to be used as copy for a cartoon that would have been published in the Dallas News. Bill worked for the News from the1940's to the early 1970's and is famous for his various sports artwork that was published in the NEWS. The text says "OUR OLD DALLAS RANGER VANISHES INTO THE PAST.......IN HIS PLACE MATERIALIZES THE DALLAS-FT WORTH SPURS OF THE TEXAS LEAGUE", which would refer to their name change in the 1960's. It also shows TOMBSTONE MARKERS that say "RIP DALLAS RANGER", as well as "SUBMARINES, REBEL, STEERS, GIANT, and EAGLE" (Dallas), as well as "FT WORTH CATS" and "FT WORT PANTHERS", these are in reference to the FT WORTH CATS and DALLAS EAGLES who had folded by now. It is in very nice condition.
