FULGURITE, Lightning Strike Glass, Massachusetts, 9 Inches, 432 Grams - FreeShip

You are bidding on a beautiful piece of fulgurite. What is fulgurite? Fulgurite forms when lightning or high voltage strikes the ground and melts the sand and rock leaving behind a fingerprint of the event.
This piece is of unknown origin, although it is likely from Massachusetts. I was cleaning out my late uncle's estate and came across his collection of fulgurite. Not knowing what it was, I did a little research, and found that this stuff has some interesting properties and is collectible!
This piece measures 9 inches long and weighs 432 grams! It has some very nice glazing and is quite porous. It's easy to see the large branches showing the path of the electrical current. The outside is an ashy grey color.
Please feel free to ask me questions about this item. See my other listings for more fulgurite. Stay tuned as well for a gigantic piece I'm saving for last.
