H G Wells was an English novelist, journalist, sociologist, and historian. He was best known for his science fiction stories which have been filmed many times, such as “The Time Machine” (1895), one of the first modern science fiction stories, “The Invisible Man” (1897), and “The War of the Worlds” (1898). He wrote over a hundred books, about fifty of which were novels.
