Superb Georgian Black Basalt Coffee Pot with Inlaid Borders

A very rare early 19th century basalt coffee pot with borders of inlaid slip. The body is decorated with sprigged ornament. It is unmarked, but the numeral "2" is impressed at the base of the handle. The pot is apx 10" long x 7 /34" tall. It is in good condition; the there is a crack under the spout, which has been reinforced; the lid has a flake on the edge; and a couple of ornaments have some loss. No other damage. Of interest to collectors of Wedgwood, Turner, Neale, Mayer and other potters of the 18th and early 19th century. Georgian or Regency c.1810.
