You are bidding on a SUPERB , named example of the LKpN101 Mesh Flight Helmet (Netzkopfhaube) used by fighter pilots of the German Luftwaffe throughout WW2. This specific helmet was used during the summer months as it was more lightweight than the heavy leather and cloth helmets. This specific helmet was manufactured in 1942, by bxo (Deutsche Telephonwerke und Kabelindustrie A.-G., Berlin SO 36), and apart from a very small period repair, and a couple of marks due to the age, this helmet is in FANTASTIC condition! The electrics are 100% intact with the original long cord and plug, not the shorter cut version. The plug is correctly marked Fl. 27560, and the rare early style round (as opposed to the later oval version) throat mics are marked, Ln. 26779-3 (bxo). Earphones are in fantastic condition and are marked, Ln. 26602. All the adjustment straps work 100%, and the snaps retain 100% of their original paint. On the inside of the helmet t is a hand-written name which looks like, "Vogt", but it is hard to read. T is a beautiful BAL stamp of the label, and a easy to read Juli 1942 production date. Size is clearly marked 57All the leather remains very soft and quite supple.Everything on this helmet is 100% original! This would be a great addition to any Luftwaffe or Fighter Pilot Helmet collection! Please email me if you have any questions.
