Still working my way through this subset in my once formidable silent movie-related collection, that of vintage signed postcards of European stars. These are rare and wonderful, and like all my signed items are guaranteed to be genuine or your money back (I take my spotless eBay reputation very seriously indeed). Let's take a closer look: we have perhaps German's greatest silent-era actress, Henny Porten (1888-1960). In films from about 1906, she was popular enough to start her own production company in 1914. She appeared in more than 150 silent films, including classics such as Anna Bolyn (dir. Ernst Lubitsch, 1920) and Backstairs (Paul Leni, 1921). This card is in the "Verlag 'Ross' Berlin SW 68" series, and bears the credit "Atelier Balazs, Berlin phot." The reverse is blank save some guide lines for an address. As a little bonus , I'm including a signed postcard of Xenia Desni (1897-1962), who appeared in about 30 silents (mostly in Germany) from 1921-1929. The rear, same deal as Porten. Desni's signature is a bit smudged, but that bright swash in lower left-hand corner is a flash reflection, not a bend .Note: I accept PayPal, money orders and personal checks (must clear first). Domestic postage for these items, priority with tracking, will come to $3.50.
