GIBSON Lotus Mist Burmese Retired Cruet

Charlie Gibson made wonderful glass! Perhaps his most memorable subject was his cruets. Charlie posessed a "knack" of matching shapes with glass color to bring out the very best in his cruets. Of course, Charlie had an advantage. He purchased Fenton "culls" (left over batches, broken glass and shards) that he melted down and reused. This way, he had access to every Fenton color treatment (including the heat sensitive glass like this cruet) that color coordinates perfectly with the Fenton offerings. Charlie's perfect finishing skills produced absolutely exquisite results....like the wonderfully tapered and ribbed handle...and look at the connection of the bottom of the handle to the base of the cruet. It doesn't get any better than this! Look at how the ribs mate into a "pinking sheared" like cut w it meets the base. Note how the pink "Blush" is uniform and deep. The cruet has a saddle pouring spout and the stopper has a ground fit for utility and security. The GIBSON Logo is impressed into the base of the cruet. With Charlie closing his doors a few years ago, our inventory is just about gone of this great Studio Glass house.
