Up for auction is a Globe Gold Medal accordion, the model famous for its use amongst the Irish musicians in the US during the 1910's and 1920's. 4 voice, LMMH setup, all original reeds in both treble and bass side. Key of D.This accordions has seen some major repairs in later years, including new bellows , new buttons, and a new bass strap. After sitting idle for a good while, I have to admit that I will not be using this box, nor will I have a chance to finish it up.The accordions plays, but a couple of treble buttons are prone to sticking, and there's a leak, so it uses a bit more air than it should. The reeds have been cleaned, re-valved, and waxed in, but only rough-tuned. It sounds good to my ears, but a professional player might prefer a fine-tune. Again: Please note that this box will need some attention before being suited to playing. This could be a nice project for someone, or a collectable item due to the history of it. It was made at the International factory in Germany, the company that also made Monarch and Sterling boxes for the cajun market. The accordion is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, but I will ship worldwide. Feel free to ask any questions, and I will do my best to answer.
