GN/Circus #18588 Box Car (Athearn) HO NIB RTR

Great Northern #18588 is a 40' single door boxcar painted vermillion with white lettering. It has a huge GReat Northern running the length of the car and a medium GN logo on the right side. Reporting marks are yellow. The car has mineral red trucks.

In 1956 the Great Northern railway painted ten 40' boxcars in experimental paint schemes and sent them around the railroad's system for employee and shipper input. Some of the paint schemes were incredibly loud and garish (for the day), thus earning them the moniker "Circus Cars".
