A Goltz & Breutmann Mentor Dreivier Camera with a Leica Elmar 5cm F3.5 Lens in its original leather case. The camera has a serial number 55653, was made between 1930-1933 in their Dresden works, used 127 film with 3x4cm exposures, with a viewfinder. There is a hinged foot attached to the front. There are strap lugs - however, only one is still on the camera. The screws are there on the other side for the other lug. The E. Leitz Wetzlar lens is mounted in a F. Deckel Munchen Compur shuttter. There is an original film spool inside. The screw attaching the case, via the tripod socket, is modern. The viewfinder is spring mounted on the top with a little release lever on the side. The shutter fires at all speeds, using the two levers on the shutter mount. The shutter release on the top of the camera depresses slightly, but looks as though it is totally disengaged from the shutter release mechanism when viewed inside - this may be as a result of the shutter mechanism. The lever on the top which releases the case appears to have a greater range of movement designed into it than it actually required. Any assistance in deciphering this and the shutter release button would be greatly appreciated. F ree UK Shipping. Unpacked weight is 0.527 kg.
