This is one of the most elegant and beautiful examples of Art Deco Bakelite that I have ever owned. T are five layers of Bakelite, laminated perfectly into a striped bangle. The colors are subtle and exquisite- the outer edges are black, and between these black edges is a layer of light butterscotch yellow, then a layer of deeper butterscotch, and then a layer of deep yellow tan. The lamination is perfect; t is no de-lamination and the entire bangle (both inside and out) is very smooth. The surface is very shiny, with minor wear that you would expect with a bangle of this age. T are absolutely no chips, cracks, fractures, burn marks, or hot pin marks. I have seen laminated pieces like this in museums (such as the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto) and in many Bakelite collector books. A rare and very, very valuable bangle! The bangle measures nearly 3/4" wide and it is a hair over 1/8" thick. The inner diameter is 2-9/16"- just a bit larger than many other Bakelite bangles, which makes this a superb find for collectors who have a hard time fitting into the bangles with a 2-1/2" diameter (believe it or not, that extra 1/16 of an inch really makes it easier to put onto your hand!).
