Purchased several years ago at the Famous Tesuque Flea Market from Albuquerque-based dealer, Alex Sanchez: Alex has a superb stash of turquoise from which he gives stones to silversmiths to work into pieces. This is a far prettier design than usual in the genre of over-the-top floral, while still very substantial in terms of quality silverwork. Signed in script Allen Chee/ Sterling. Lots of artful handwork: Well-filed edges, handmade leaves again with very subtle variations especially in the edge shapes, though the chiseling is more uniform it's not exactly reproduced leaf to leaf, flat wire curls, hand made silver drops as well. I assume the single stone is stabilized, so much is nowdays, of a truly beautiful color, deeper blue turquoise with stronger brown matrix. Very striking. Also a lovely, more delicate composition. This is one of two 80's era silver bracelets I got from Alex that I am now auctioning. It is Indian made though I'm not sure if Chee is Navajo or Pueblo. Length of silver: 5.75; width: 1.5; gap: 1 inch. S&H: $10 I started on ebay years ago selling from my collection of silverwork. Since moving to the southwest, I've just collected and not sold silverwork. But I've got to cull from the herd at this point. I want you to be as delighted as everyone so far has been.
