2 Great Elrathia Kingi Trilobites One Recently Molted

Trilobites were a hard shelled arthropod (invertebrate) that roamed the sea floor during the Cambrian period roughly 550 million years ago. This trilobite came from the Wheeler Shale Formation in Utah.
The complete trilobite appears to have molted right before it perished. Some experts believe that the "wrinkly" appearance is from the shell being soft after molting. Much like modern crabs when they shed their shell.
This trilobite plate is 1/8" thick x 1 7/8" x 1 15/16" at its largest measurements.
The complete Elrathia Kingi measures 1 1/4" in length.
