GREY AGATE GEODE STERLING SILVER SHANK SIGNED PANETTA RING GOLD WASH VINTAGE SZ7

This is a truly stunning vintage 1970s Panetta ring in gold colored wash (vermeil?) over sterling silver with a large sparkling grey stone set in a branch-like setting. The prongs of the setting reach out and partially around the stone. They look almost like coral branches. The stone has variations in the gray color and beautiful fluid whorls. I am unsure if it is agate or some other geode or mineral. The stone measures 1&3/8" tall and just under 1" wide. This designer ring is gold in color and I believe there is a gold wash (at least its gold in color) over the silver metal. The ring is marked inside "Ster Shank" and Panetta with the copyright symbol. On a ring sizer this ring falls just between a 7 and a 7&1/2". I would say this is a 7&1/4 sized ring. This is a true cocktail ring that commands attention. Elegant but not all understated! I am tempted to keep it . . .
