This auction is for a very nice Griswold No.12 cast iron skillet. Manufactured sometime between 1939 and 1944 , it has the small logo , early style handle and heat ring. The skillet has no cracks or rust. It did have small spots of rust on the cook surface from lack of use , but these spots cleaned up nicely and will fade with use. Most of , if not all of the manufacturers machine / mill marks are still present on the interior surface. It has a couple of manufacturers flaws. The No. 12 on the top of the handle is weak and the skillet does not sit perfectly flat. When sitting on a flat surface is does have just a hint of wiggle. Not much wiggle , probably the thickness of a match book cover. I believe this was a casting issue because the skillet shows minimal , if any use. The skillet measures 13 1/2" in diameter across the top. It measures approximately 14 1/4" across the spouts. It measures approximately 19" in length across the tap and handle. The cook surface is 11 1/2" in diameter. It is 2 1/4" deep. The skillet has been cleaned and seasoned with vegetable shortening and is ready for use and / or display. Thanks for looking !
