Woodcut - Eagle Ceremony from The Colophon, A Book Collector's Quarterly Part 12 by Gustave Baumann New York: , December, 1932. Original limited edition woodcut by Gustave Baumann titled Eagle Ceremony at Tesuque Pueblo 1932. Woodcut is 8.5 x 10.5 inches with an image area of 6.5 x 6.5 inches. Printed in shades of black, grays and brown with Baumann's initials and mark. Woodcut is in fine condition, very clean. Printed in an edition of 3000, this image is quite scarce and is an exquisite example of Baumann's work. The print is signed by Baumann with his monogram in the block. Some of the articles from this issue are “Johnsonian Bibliography” by R. W. Chapman, “The writing of East Wind: West Wind” by Pearl S. Buck, and “Juan Ortiz and Wood Engraving in America” by Lawrence Wroth. The issue is almost near fine condition with slight rubbin to the back panel. Please see our other Colophon auctions.
