Teak Burl Lightpull This elegant lightpull is made from a very unique piece of exotic Teak Burl. Why settle for a standard light pull from your local home improvement store when you can own a one of a kind pull made from beautiful exotic wood. The color of this teak is light and would match any decor. It is a one of a kind! It is coverd with awsome looking burl eyes and amazing grain patterns. Teak is an extremley durable wood, so this pull could be used indoors or outdoors and will last a long time. It is easily attached to your pull-light or ceiling fan chain. TEAK: Tectona Grandis GRAIN: straight to wavy grain, sometimes fairly striking, but pieces can be found with a subdued grain pattern. SOURCES: indigenous to India, Burma, Thailand, and to the former Indo-China, ie Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam, and in Indonesia, particularly Java, although strictly speaking, teak was introduced into Java originally, and was planted near temples and shrines. Over several centuries these original plantings have extended and developed into almost pure timber stands over fairly extensive areas. Teak is not normally gregarious in its natural habitat, usually being found in mixed deciduous forests. Also grown in Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico. Panama, Peru, and tropical Africa.
