I must admit, I don’t know much about this tray, except thatit is quite pretty and extremely substantial, measuring 17.5 by 15 by 2 inches tall and weighing a little over 5 pounds. It has a Sevres-style mark under the lip with what I think is an “M” and another letter in the center (pictured). It also has a few funny, crop-circle marks underneath (pictured). It came from an estate with a large quantity of known French and German late 19 th – early 20 th century porcelain, so I think that’s where it would be time-wise. It has a lot of raised detail on the edges that I don’t think comes across well in the photographs. It is in mint condition, no cracks or wear. The heavy gold flourishes and delicate little insect detail make this piece truly special. It would make a perfect fix for an antique nightstand or end table whose top has suffered discoloration or wear.
