This is a hand carved original work of art by well known pagan artist, Paul Borda of Dryad Design. Mr Borda writes: " I have a great love for the Goddess Freya and I wanted this piece to look like an ancient artifact, like a treasure that had been handed down through generations. I tried to work in a more primal style to give the statue a greater feeling of age and history. When I think of Freya, I feel my own family history and, to me, she represents the love, abundance and fertility that comes down to us through our heretage." This statue of Freya is carved and hand finished from a single birch log. Freya wears her great necklace Brisingamen and, as Queen of the Valkyrie, Freya holds a sword as well as a mead horn and key. She is flanked by her two cats and wears her cloak of hawk feathers. The name "FREYA" is marked in runes on her cloak and Freya also wears earrings that bear a triple bindrune of the Fehu rune. The birch log was harvested from the woods in central Vermont and it measures 6"x6"x17.75"
