Hannoverian Garde du Corps Officer's Helmet. Model of 1846 The last pattern of helmet worn by the regiment. The previous model helmets, and cuirasses are very well illustraded in Jan Kube's book Militaria. The regiment has an illustrious history and was awarded the battle honors Peninsular - Waterloo - Garzia Hernandez. In 1860 Hannover was absorbed by Prussia and this famous regiment ceased to exist. Steel helmet with gilded brass fittings. Badge is the Order of Saint George and banners with the battle honors Peninsular / Garzia Hernandez / Waterloo This rare helmet has been professionally restored. All of the leather work has been replaced. It is a museum grade restoration. An extremely rare helmet in any condition.
