Hard Things Are Good For Folks ca1860 Ingham Bragg Book Children's Moral Stories

"Hard Things Are Good For Folks" , by the author of The Little Prayer .
Published by Ingham & Bragg, Cleveland, Ohio.
No copyright year is listed, but a good guess is 1860.
This small (3 X 4.5 in.), 57 page hardcover children's book contains five short stories ( Carrie at her Grandfather's; A Talk about Hard Things; Toothache; Wintergreen Springs; At Grandpa's Again ), each with a moral lesson. There is a frontispiece illustration, and smaller illustrations heading each chapter.
Good condition. The board were probably originally tan-colored, but they're become stained and faded. The gilt spine titles are still distinct though. Spine ends are frayed, board corners rubbed. Inside, the endpapers are foxed, and there are foxing stains on a few pages. Pages are unmarked and complete. The binding is stretched a little in places, but there are no loose or missing pages.
Rare, mid 19th century "little book" for children.
