nd Rothschild Dinner Plate c1915-1930 History & Context In Vienna c1850, a string of pearls belonging to one of the Rothschild Baronesses was taken by a nd (study the pictures / hand painting carefully and you will find the missing necklace in a tree). A few days later, a gardener found the missing necklace hanging from a branch in a nearby tree. This event inspired the Rothschild family to commission the now famous nd Rothschild pattern & design.nd is considered the finest hand painted china produced in Europe today. T are actually twelve motifs, each portraying a certain combination of birds, usually two. The only china comparable in terms of quality is Sèvres (the royal porcelain of France) or Germany's Meissen.
