NOTE : both volumes with armorial bookplate of Charles Cadogan, Esq., 1685-1776, a noted English book collector, an English soldier who rose to the rank of General, and Whig politician; in 1726, he inherited the title 1st Earl Cadogan on the death of his brother, and changed his bookplate to a more elaborate one with the name Lord Cadogan.
