The 30th Iowa Infantry was mustered in for three years of Federal service on September 20, 1862, and mustered out June 5, 1865.
1,132 men served in the unit and suffered 317 fatalities.
This succinct, informative history was written by James Fowler and Miles Miller and was published in 1908 by the Regimental Association.
In 184 pages it relates the initial organization and the major campaigns, official reports and orders, muster roll and casualties.
There is also a poem, "Our Reunion", from the regimental reunion of 1886.
This copy is in generally Good Condition, with bumped corners, worn spine ends, minor soil and rubbing.
The interior is clean, hinges just a tad weak, and yellowing to outer page edges.
