HK-- 1976 Medallic Art Co opening Danbury CT Bz38mm, by D.C. French UNC BOSCO

Matte finish. I believe I've auctioned thia on eBay before, getting about $60.

The obverse from the Daniel Chester French medal (1917) for the Catskill Aqueduct. This was an ANS medal, as a 3" cast, but it also was struck in $-size (HK667). This is often considered the most beautifu medal in the So-called Dollar series.

French is one of the "Top Ten" ofUSA sculptors; The Lincoln Memorial is his best-known work, but he made a number of wonderful medals.

Medallic Art Company (founded 1900) and the US Mint are the two most important American producers of medals. Whitehead-Hoag, in Newark, NJ, would be #3.)

I have this is Silver, I think in a Brilliant Proof version, and I will putn it on eBat if I ever find it again.
