Up for bid is a very unusual replica of the 1871 patented Horse Race Bank. This is a very high quality cast iron unit. I have had it in my personal collection for quit a few years. The original bank that this is a replica of was manufactured by J & E Stevens Company of Cromwell CT. The original unit that this is a replica of is one of the rarest antique banks and is rated #9 out of 10 on the rare scale today. You can see the original bank on page 117 of the book The History of Mechanical Toy Banks "Penny Lane" by Al Davidson. The bank is 6" in diameter and 5.5" tall. Thanks for looking and as always, satisfaction is guaranteed.
