This is a large lot of old postcards that I picked up at an auction in southern Kansas. I think the newest cards are probably from the 1960's or 1970's. The oldest card is an advertising postcard that is dated 1889. I have a close-up photo of that card because I think it's a pretty neat piece of advertising history! I tried to pick out some of the cards that I thought were neat so you could get an idea of what I'm offering. There are only a few real photo postcards. One is a "bird's eye view" of Lyons, Nebraska. There is another real photo postcard of a team. There is no writing on the backside of that card, so I don't know what type of team it is. There is also a really neat postcard of a woman wearing a really tall hat. It says on the frontside: The Latest Style - The Stenographer's Hat. That card has been mailed and is dated 1910. There is a postcard that is advertising Ford cars. It says on the frontside: If you own a Ford, the world laughs at you or with you! A man in the corner is saying: Where did you get that Roller Skate. The artist for that postcard is Cobb X. Shinn. That card has been mailed and is dated 1921. There are newer postcards (1950's or 1960's) of NBC in Hollywood, CBS in Hollywood, and Capitol Records in Hollywood. There is a postcard of the Chilocco Indian School in Arkansas City, Kansas.
