H. & E. Hugh New Salem Pottery Decorative Floral Deep Dish Plate Randleman, NC The plate has a terra cotta color. The front of the plate and the back edges have a glazed finish. Circling the sides of the plate is a decorative green and brown pattern. In the middle of the plate, are two white flowers with brown accents and green stems and leaves. "H & E PUGH NEW SALEM, NC" is stamped into the back of the plate. Also the initials of the artists Hal Pugh and Eleanor Minnock-Pugh are etched into the back the pla te. New Salem Pottery has been in business for over 40 years. It was established in 1972 by the owners and operators, Hal Pugh and Eleanor Minnock-Pugh. T heir pottery has been used and displayed by the movie industry, museums, universities, and historic sites in United States and abroad. The plate is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or breaks. The plate has crazing and some scratches along with some scuffs and production blemishes/nicks on the back. See pictures for condition. The plate measures approximately 9 3/4" in diameter at the top, 6 3/8" in diameter at the bottom, and 1 3/8" tall.
