This is a figure of Buddha housed in a brass (?) box with a glass front. I bought it about 10 years ago at a NY antique show. The figure seems to be made of ceramic or pottery. It is kept close to the glass by some very old wadding and a bit of cotton wool. If you took the cotton wool out you could keep something else in there as the back fits very well. The figure is to be taken on one's travels as a portable altar. There is a loop on top to thread something through. The first picture shows the front with the glass. The second picture shows the back only with the Buddha resting on the wadding. The third picture shows the item from the side and the fourth picture shows the back. Free shipping if within the U.S.
