ICONIC 1951 OLLIE MATSON Star of USF DONS FOOTBALL Photo: Running w/ Ball NFL

For bid is an original 1951 University of San Francisco Dons FOOTBALL photograph of the LEGENDARY OLLIE MATSON, the great halfback of the USF "Undefeated, Untied, Uninvited" football team of 1951. This terrific photo is an International News Photos publicity photo showing Matson in full uniform with a football under his arm while he is leaping in the air. Fist is extended (left hand). He's probably on the practice field somewhere in San Francisco, California. He's wearing jersey #33. This is a clear, lovely photograph of Matson leaping in the air. Matson was a Hall of Fame professional player who had a brilliant 14-season NFL career with the Chicago Cardinals (1952-1958), Los Angeles Rams (1959-1962), the Detroit Lions (1963) and the Philadelphia Eagles (1964-1966). He was one of THE GREATS. This is a lovely, clear photograph of Matson in an amazing pose in his college uniform with a 1951 helmet. Photo is date-stamped on the back November 28, 1951 by the Central Press Association. Photo measures roughly 9 x 7 inches. Please let me know if you have any questions whatsoever.
