This book was conceived over eight years ago by Colin Hunter McQueen after perusing an illustrated volume of “Tam o' Shanter” by the Scottish artist George Cruikshank and from then it has taken seven years to produce this highly decorated volume. It has been scrupulously researched, compiled and written by Colin’s son, Douglas Hunter, who has discovered new material which corrects long accepted data by past authors. It traces Burns's family members in chronologicalorder and date with his friends and contemporaries (being the larger part ofthe work) featuring in alphabetical order.Along with an explanatory history there are three main illustrations to each page featuring portraits and sites associated with each individual. There is also a large appendix at the end of the volume. This unique, full colour, 330 page, hard bound A4 volume is limited to 2000 signed and numbered copies. It contains over 600 hundred illustrations by Colin, and over 300 birth, baptism, marriage, death and burial records were located during its research, correcting many long established mistakes by previous authors of Burns-related literature and unearthing new information about the family and friends of Robert Burns. Subscribers will be notified of their serial number, making this a volume to cherish and a valuable family heirloom for future generations.Among
