The Income Tax Root of All Evil Frank Chodorov 1954 1st Edition F/NF Libertarian

Chodorov, Frank. The Income Tax: Root of All Evil . New York: The Devin-Adair Company, 1954. 12mo., original cream and brown marbled paper boards. x, 116pp.
First edition, with no statement of printing on the copyright page (this title saw at least two printings, examples of the second printing state "second printing"). A handsome copy of the noted libertarian theorist's second book, published well into his career as a leading thinker on the libertarian-right. A withering critique of the sixteenth amendment, informed by Chodorov's anti-war and anti-statist views.
Chodorov had standout career among the early leaders of the libertarian movement. He was mentored by Alfred J. Nock, and met his end from the after effects of a stroke suffered while delivering a commencement address to the graduates of Robert LeFevre's freedom school.
Fine in near fine jacket, jacket faintly bumped at a couple of spots along the extremities. A tight, bright, and extremely presentable copy with the publisher's original comment card laid in.
