Indiana Harvest Milk Glass 3 piece Cannister set w/covers. You are bidding on complete 3 piece cannister set, made by Indiana Glass Company, and sold under the name of their parent company, Lancaster Colony. Circa 1965. Unlike later items, produced in the 1970's by Indiana, these cannisters were hand made. If you look closely at the detail of the grapes and leaves in the pattern, you will note that they are more clearly defined than those made by the machine process. After 1972, Indiana began producing these cannisters in their highly-desireable Carnival Glass colors of Gold, Green and Blue. These; however, were made by the machine process. These milk glass cannister sets were available for green stamp redemption in the 60's and early 70's, and many of them were obtained that way. They were also sold by Tiara, and were advertised as, "Just like the ones Grandma had," referring to the pristine White glass. The smaller cannister is readily available in all colors. It was sold as a cannister; as a candy jar; and as a biscuit jar. The two larger sizes; however, are much more difficult to locate, with the large one almost impossible to find. It was also marketed as a Cookie Jar, and that is the collections w many of them reside. It is a rarity to find a complete set of these beautiful pieces in superb shape, as these are.
