Rare Italian Silk Woven Postcard of Umberto 1 King of Italy (1844-1900)

Interesting and very rare Italian published silk woven postcard depicting the Umberto 1 - King of Italy. One of a series of Italian marked silk woven cards I am listing this week (do have a look at the others).

Silk woven cards are more commonly seen by English weavers such as Stevens (of Stevengraph fame) and W.H.Grant. The German weavers in Krefeld were the first to produce silk woven cards - from around 1898/99 - about 3 years before the Coventry weavers.

Date: Early 1900s

Condition - Silk is good. There are a few rust / age marks on the silk above the portrait and to the left of the head (and one black spot) The card has a few marks and is aged (slight browning). General corner and edge wear.
