Original 8x10-inch black-and-white glossy publicity photo / movie still was produced to promote the 1946 RKO family / holiday film, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, which starred James Stewart, Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore, Thomas Mitchell, Henry Travers, Beulah Bondi, Frank Faylen, Ward Bond, Gloria Grahame, H.B. Warner, Frank Albertson, Todd Karns, Samuel S. Hinds, Mary Treen and Virginia Patton, Sheldon Leonard, Edward Keane, Georgie Nokes and Bobby Anderson. The film was directed by Frank Capra and was based on a story by Philip Van Doren Stern. This is an original studio-issued still -- NOT a copy or reproduction. The photo features a great image of child actress, Jean Gail -- who plays Mary as a child -- sitting at a drugstore counter having an ice cream sundae. Film information and a description of the scene are printed on a paper snipe that is attached to the back side of the photo. This photo was apparently used as an illustration for a newspaper, or magazine. T are several publisher's notations along the borders. Overall condition: solid VG...... T is one obvious flaw that keeps this photo from being in great shape. T are three spots of discoloration in the background area of the scene -- caused by the glue used to affix the snipe to the back.
