James Kent Hall of Fame for Great Americans Medal, 1968 . Hall of Fame for Great Americans at New York University. By Eleanor Platt. Bronze; 76mm. Obverse : Portrait of James Kent, great American jurist and legal scholar renowned for his six-part book on American law . Reverse : Kent's great "source book" on American law, balancing Law and Equity, detailing maritime and international law, and the law of the land . Struck by the Medallic Art Company, New York. Condition : ABOUT UNCIRCULATED. Comes with descriptive pamphlet. The Hall of Fame for Great Americans at New York University was establishedin 1900. Bronze portrait busts of the honorees were commissioned and placed in an open-aircolonnade, and starting in 1962 medals, struck by the Medallic Art Company, were issued to honor the inductees. The series was discontinued in 1975 with 94 medals having been issued.
