This is a very nice and very unusual Tilshead made by James Upshall in the late 1970s. It didn't make his "Upshall" standards as it looks like it has a couple of small fills on the left side of the bowl. But, the pipe is otherwise a handsome one showing a clean and solid bowl interior but it does have substantial darkening around the rim. The stem is also in outstanding condition with no bite or scratch marks. And check out the size/weight ratio below; remarkably light for a pipe of this size and testimony to the legendary well cured wood that Upshall uses for his masterpieces.APPROXIMATE SIZE & WEIGHT: Length: 5-3/4 i nches.
