How rare it is to get a WWII item authenticated and documented by the veterans family, Wow.. Price reduced 10/24 from 1085.00 to 985.00... A wonderful piece of American WWII History.... Note: The saya that was taken with this blade in New Guinea has some damage. You can see a missing piece at the top by the Kozuka. This is how it was found by Anton Heier..... Offering a Japanese Officer's Wakizashi with family documentation, captured in New Guinea by Corporal Anton Heier a member of the U.S. Army 123rd Infantry, a component of the 33rd Division. There is a testimonial written by his son regarding the circumstances surrounding the capture of this weapon. Corporal Anton Heier saw action in New Guinea as well being in the force to liberate Luzon and island hopping towards Japan. There is an excerpt from the testimonial following information about the Wakizashi. The Wakizashi is possibly Meiji period and either a copy of Muromachi , Yamashiro or Soshu school. It is signed on the tang, possibly Kin Michi. Details: Nagasa 15 3/16, Sori 1/4 inch, Hamon waves. It has a Gold ito and wrapped 6 1/4 inch tuska (overall length 22 inches) , copper habaki and signed fuchi (Samurai in a boat
