Jim Bunning. Detroit Tigers. 1957 Topps #338. HOF 1996. Funky Card.

eBays' first requirement for "acceptable" condition is being operational. This is an operational baseball card- you can spoke it, flip it, do anything you want with it. But it is in poor shape. Rounded corners. Chipping. Creases upper left and lower center. Scuffing. But worst of all is the mustache like stain on a lifelong clean shaven fellow. This is called a rookie card. It is Bunnings' first baseball card, but his official rookie season was 1955. He is on the 1956 Topps Detroit Tiger team card, but for whatever reason didn't get his own card. Jim Bunning pitched 17 Major League seasons, posting a 224-184 record with a 3.27 ERA. He had fine control (only 1000 walks in 3760 career innings) and great "stuff" (2855 career strikeouts). He also has the rare distinction of tossing a no hitter in both leagues, the 2nd one a perfect game. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1996. His post baseball life included 6 terms in the US Congress and 3 terms in the US Senate. Check scans closely for overall condition. Returns for any reason. Shipping to USA only.
I'm a year retired, and am listing various collections, mostly paper, built up over many years of collecting. Thanks for looking, and .
