John D. Macdonald - The Executioners ( Cape Fear ) - John Hale U.K first DJ / DW

John D. Macdonald - The Executioners - first edition published by John Hale in 1959

The book is tightly and squarely bound in black boards, lettered inlime green to the spine, the boards are a little bumped at theextremities. The text block is very slightly dusty to the edges, with the merest hint of foxing; it is otherwise clean and free from inscriptions.
The dust jacket is the original and not price clipped, it has some slight scuffs, a few small chips and short closed tear to the edges, some of which have been repaired with small pieces of tape to the reverse, it is a little grubby with one or two minor marks.
Macdonald's novel was the basis of the psychological thriller, 'Cape Fear', it is very uncommon as a first edition, particularly so in the original dust jacket.
