Kangxi mark and period porcelain cup, perhaps 1680-1710 Lovely cup of octagonal form, height 70 mm, mouth 57 mm. Outside green and yellow vase on a red-stand alternates with Buddhist and scholar symbols, on coffee or oatmeal coloured background. Base white with Kangxi blue mark in characteristic double blue circle. Inside pure white with red decoration and five flowers and leaves in typical Kangxi style. The fabric is of substantial thickness but still translucent, a sign of high quality. Sadly, quite of lot of chipping around the rim (see photographs: in six places, some "nibbled" chipping) , but not necessarily a spoiler for an object of this antiquity and quality for a serious collector.
