You are bidding on a exceptionally fine, beautiful Karhula designed piece of art glass in this famous Finnish company. They this design is most likely from the early 1950s and I believe was done by the American artist Raymond Loewry who was a friend and associate of Karhula's chief designer, the famous Tapio Wirkkala. This wonderful footed bowl is in great shape; t are two of the most tiny and almost invisible flea bites on the rim. they do not detract from the piece in any fashion and as noted are almost invisible to the eye. The piece has a strong smoke glass color which was very typical of this style and time period. The footed bowl measures 4.5" H x 7" W and is marked on the bottom with the R.L. signature and the Karhula name. T is a Winter scene of a skier and a deer etched on the piece. A great, hard to find 1950s piece of Finnish Art Glass in fine condition. This piece has a book value of $ 150-200. If you have any questions ask them before bidding. Buyer pays S/I/H.
