Kay Spectrum. This is very much like the Teisco Spectrum guitars from the sixties which were imported to the USA, and are much sought after today. This one does have the "K" logo on the headstock so it is a Kay but actually Kays and Teiscos were all made in Japan at that time and by the same craftsmen so really, they are very much the same anyway. The neck is bolted on and the headstock is in lovely condition with six on a side tuners all with the original tuning stem ferrules. It has a very nice sunburst body in red and yellow edged with black; a very decorative scratchplate etched in white with flowers and leaves (the top corner around the screw has been repaired but is hardly noticeable). There are two chrome covered pickups with two, two-way pickups switches - very common at the time - plus volume and tone controls. The chrome adjustable bridge is there and the tremolo tailpiece is unusually complete. This guitar may well have come from the USA at some time, and i ts in nice condition and working well.
